THE STORY
Square 1 Sessions is a monthly program to introduce budding Sydney dancers into Hip Hop freestyle. Aimed at dancers under 3 years of experience, sessions are led by a team of 6 mentors.
THE THINKING
Initial explorations involved establishing key brand colours and styling. Below are several logo sketches, colour explanations, and a style moodboard.
THE DELIVERY
The finalised Square 1 brand centralises around graffiti, bold illustrations, and a distressed print-like finishing. Graffiti and half-tone textures pay homage to the origins of hip hop culture, and mentors become illustrated characters - putting real people as the focus of the project.
